Throughout its existence ACRO has sought to develop innovative programs which promote community safety through working directly with those affected by the criminal justice system. ACRO believes that crime is an issue which the criminal justice system cannot tackle alone and consequently has strived to develop community based programs where local members of individual communities can be directly involved in proactive strategies addressing their specific concerns. These programs have been designed to develop the capacity of individuals and groups by building on existing knowledge and skills, promoting support networks and the sharing of information and experience.
