The ATAC Logo was designed by Kasey Beaumont (17, Brisbane). The bold approach of young people casting their 'shadow' positively into the future is the symbolism behind its construction. The ATAC Homepage was designed by Adrian Begg (13, Brisbane).

During 1998 there was a great deal of debate in Australia on the issue of racism. This debate was sparked by extreme comments being made by some against Aboriginal and Asian Australians. At the same time young people in Australia were also "targeted" by these extremists as being the "blame" for social and economic problems in this country.

Many good citizens stood up in defense of their fellow Australians in a debate which at times became highly emotional and political. ACRO, the Australian Community Safety & Research Organisation (a not-for-profit charitable institution) was approached by some young people who wished to participate publicly in the debate.

As a consequence Danielle Begg (15), Chris Stewart (17) and Seung Lee (16) were sponsored on a National Tour to promote an "anti-racism" message centred about a Community Service Announcement (CSA or commercial) produced for national television and radio distribution called "Defending Principles". This "Good Citizens Tour" , as it became known, demonstrated the ability of young people to articulate a position and present a reasoned voice in the midst of the emotional hysteria of many adults.
